Michael E. Wallace III
Mr. Wallace joined NovaFund Advisors in 2004. He has been involved in private equity since joining Merrill Lynch in 1989, where he marketed leveraged buyout, venture capital, distressed debt and other alternative strategies. During his tenure with the firm he held a number of senior sales and marketing roles, and was most recently the National Sales Director for Merrill Lynch Investment Managers' private equity funds of funds and hedge fund platforms. Prior to Merrill Lynch, he was with The First Boston Corporation where he was a Vice President in The Taxable Fixed Income Group. Mr. Wallace began his career at J.P. Morgan & Co. He studied at Rutgers College and Fairleigh Dickinson University, and holds a BS in Accounting.
Bryan D. Kelley
Mr. Kelley joined NovaFund Advisors in 2004. He has participated in the private equity markets since 1990 in both buy- and sell-side capacities. Previously, Mr. Kelley was a Placement Advisor with both Merrill Lynch & Co. and Deutsche Bank. Prior to this, Mr. Kelley worked in the Pension Consulting Division of Wilshire Associates where he advised clients on 24 partnership commitments to buyout, venture capital, distressed debt and other alternative asset funds. Mr. Kelley began his career in 1990 as an analyst in the Direct Investments Group for Smith Barney, Harris Upham and Co. Mr. Kelley graduated from Furman University, and earned an MBA from the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh.
James. H. Howe
Mr. Howe joined NovaFund Advisors in 2009. He was most recently a Managing Director at Strategic Value Partners where he was responsible for Business Development and Investor Relations. Prior to Strategic Value Partners, Mr. Howe was an Executive Director at UBS Investment Bank, responsible for North American distribution with the Private Equity Funds Group which he co-founded in 1999. Before this he ran Emerging Markets Equity Sales at UBS. Mr. Howe served as an officer in the U.S. Navy, in the Middle East and Asia, and later as an instructor at the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD. He graduated from Vanderbilt University and earned a M.A.L.S. in International Affairs/Economics from Georgetown University.
Mark F. McAndrews
Mr. McAndrews joined NovaFund Advisors in 2009. He has over 25 years of financial management experience. Previously, he was a founding Partner of Ericsson Venture Partners. In 2001, Mr. McAndrews was the Chief Operating Officer of the Global Investment Banking Division at Merrill Lynch. During his career at Merrill Lynch, he also served as Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Financial Officer of the division. During his tenure the division employed over 3,000 employees and generated $4 billion in revenue. From 1998 to 2001, he was President of Merrill Lynch Capital Partners, where he oversaw the management of two private equity funds totaling $700 million. He also served on the Investment Committee of Merrill Lynch's Technology Venture Capital Fund which achieved an 8.1x realized return. Mr. McAndrews began his career as an auditor at Arthur Andersen & Co. Mark graduated from Yale University and earned a Masters in Accounting and Finance from NYU.
Stuart G. Cozzens
Mr. Cozzens joined NovaFund Advisors in 2004. He began is career at Merrill Lynch where he held various marketing and sales management positions. Mr. Cozzens was one of the founding members of Merrill’s Private Equity Group. His responsibilities included marketing buyout, venture capital, mezzanine, real estate and special situation partnerships to large institutional investors in the Northeast. From 1996 to 2002, he was a Senior Investment Banking Marketing Officer providing client relationship management for the largest Northeast institutions; public and corporate pensions, endowments, foundations, banks and insurance companies. From 1991 to 1996, he was Director and Manager, Institutional Financial Services Group, responsible for overseeing and marketing financial products and services to corporate and institutional clients in the Eastern US. From 1976 to 1986, he was a Vice President of Institutional Sales, Corporate Financial Services Group. Mr. Cozzens was a Captain, United States Air Force, Aircraft Commander and Pilot from 1962 to 1970. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from DePauw University with a BA in Economics.
Kallie Hapgood
Ms. Hapgood joined NovaFund Advisors in 2009. She has over 13 years of experience in the financial services industry. Most recently she was a Vice President at Knight Capital Partners where she marketed various Private Equity Funds. Prior to Knight Ms. Hapgood was a Client Service Officer with State Street Global Advisors, where she was responsible for covering Financial Institutions and Consultants. Ms. Hapgood began her career in the Global Power Investment Banking Group at Merrill Lynch. She graduated from Dartmouth College where she received a BA in Government.
Karen F. Gildersleeve
Ms. Gildersleeve joined NovaFund Advisors in 2009. She has over seven years of experience in the financial services industry. From 2005 through 2008, she was a Marketing Associate at Third Avenue Management where her responsibilities included Marketing Communications and Public Relations. Prior to Third Avenue she was an Investment Team Coordinator with Jerusalem Venture Partners, where she focused on the firm’s Investor Relations efforts. She is fluent in French and conversational in Hungarian. Ms Gildersleeve graduated from Vanderbilt University, and earned a Master of Science in Administration from Boston University / Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
